The TanenbaumCHAT Learning Resource Centre furthers the overall mission of our school by encouraging a spirit of inquiry and instilling positive attitudes for life-long learning. The library's mission is to foster literacy and critical thinking skills and to enhance the curriculum by providing the necessary support resources and the guidance to access the resources in the most effective manner. We offer a friendly, open atmosphere, in which students and faculty can pursue their academic needs.
The CHAT Learning Resource Centre has a collection of approximately 16,000 titles. The collection includes both Judaica and General Studies and is centred around the curriculum. Access to the English and Hebrew collections is made possible through an online catalogue. The Hebrew collection is primarily for reference use in the library.
Access is available through the CHAT LRC to a huge e-book collection as well as newspaper, magazine, journal and encyclopedia databases. The library also has a large DVD collection, daily and weekly newspapers and a great selection of print magazines and journals.
The students have access to 25 computers in the library. These are used primarily for research and cross-curricula studies.
A photocopier and printer are available in the library for student use. Students can load money onto their ID cards to access both the photocopier and the printer. Each individual copy or print costs 10c, colour printing costs 50c. Ask librarians to add money to your account.
